“O Allah, forgive me for what I have done before and after, what I have done secretly and openly. You are the Expediter and the Delayer.”
The Prophet ﷺ used to invoke Al-Muakhkhir along with Al-Muqaddim in his night prayer, acknowledging Allah's wisdom in timing all affairs.
Al-Muakhkhir delays things in accordance with His perfect wisdom. What seems like a delay to us is actually precise divine timing. He delays the punishment of the disobedient and delays rewards to increase them.
