Al-Haafiz

احْفَظِ اللَّهَ يَحْفَظْكَ احْفَظِ اللَّهَ تَجِدْهُ تُجَاهَكَ

“Be mindful of Allah and He will protect you. Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him before you.”

The Prophet ﷺ taught that Allah's preservation is linked to the servant's mindfulness of Him—Al-Hafiz guards those who guard His commands.

Allah's preservation (hifz) is of two types: preserving the servant's worldly interests (body, family, wealth) and preserving their religion and faith from doubts and desires.

اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْنِي مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيَّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِي وَعَنْ يَمِينِي وَعَنْ شِمَالِي وَمِنْ فَوْقِي وَأَعُوذُ بِعَظَمَتِكَ أَنْ أُغْتَالَ مِنْ تَحْتِي

Allahumma ihfadhni min bayni yadayya wa min khalfi wa 'an yamini wa 'an shimali wa min fawqi, wa a'udhu bi-'adhamatika an ughtala min tahti

“O Allah, protect me from my front, from behind me, from my right, from my left, and from above me. I seek refuge in Your greatness from being swallowed up from beneath me.”
