Al-Ghaniyy
The Self-Sufficient
Prophetic Traditions
“O My servants, if the first and last of you, the humans and jinn among you, were to stand in one place and ask of Me, and I were to give everyone what they asked, that would not decrease what I have except as a needle decreases the ocean when dipped into it.”
Al-Ghaniyy's treasures are inexhaustible—giving to all of creation does not diminish what He possesses.
Scholarly Insights
Al-Ghaniyy is absolutely free of any need for His creation, while all of creation is absolutely in need of Him. He is rich in His essence, and His richness is an inherent attribute, not acquired.
